James is a lovely teenager who has an acquired brain injury following a devastating car accident two years ago. His brain injury has impacted on his mental and physical abilities but improvements are ongoing. James’ love of sports has continued and he still likes to be involved although at a different level. We have matched him with two young male carers who are buddies for James and who at different times help him access sport and other social activities. James has a regular session at the weekend and extra sessions in the school holidays.

Gemma is a confident, bubbly young women of 21 who has Down Syndrome. Gemma likes a young female carer to go shopping, home-based activities such as cooking and accompany her in the evening to social activities – including discos. Sessions take place during the week in the day or at weekends and in the evening.

Heather is a happy, sweet-natured twelve year old whose disability followed complications at birth. She has complex health and physical and is gastrostomy fed. Heather has a small team of regular carers who are fully trained in all her needs. This is a two carer role to ensure all Heather’s manual handling needs are properly supported. Heather has care sessions every day before and after school and also a long session on a Saturday.
